Trey Grayson: “Remember, it’s the government’s money. It’s not your money!”
I’ll give Trey the benefit of the doubt and assume this was a Freudian slip.

oh my word.. when did he say this?
2003
It IS the governments money you tards. Can you go to Home Depot and buy a new kitchen sink and charge it to the government? NO! Because it’s not your money. It never was your money! The government earned it for providing you services and protection, and it is now theirs to do what they want with it. Thank god Trey understands this.
Jesus, some people will never learn….
The currency belongs to the Federal government. Only those who know not what they discuss believe otherwise. Your credit belongs to you. As usual you republi-bots are obfuscating inconvenient truths with extraneous falsehoods.
Protest all you want; deny all you see. In the end you are still morally wrong and factually inaccurate about money and currency. In all likelyhood, you ‘feel’ like you can print money; put your name on it and legally punish anyone who defaces it. If so, they will name a street after you in Tabriz. I know you’d rather it be in Tehran, but you & Tabriz are both second-class entities.
At what year Fancy Farm rally did he say this? From the sticker on his shirt, it appears to be 2009. However, I’ve watched his speach on Youtube and he didn’t make this statement then. This website is nothing more than a smear campaign against Trey Graysn.
Found this blog through google, great work man! Keep up the good work telling the truth about Trey!
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. THanks for the updates about kentucky politics
This is an unusually and noticeably short clip. What did he say in the sentence before and the sentence after this one? That would certainly make a big difference!!! He may have been quoting someone else or making a hypothetical statement about the views of others. This certainly isn’t convincing to me!!!
Teresa,
Unfortunately this is the only clip we could find. I spoke to someone who saw the whole speech and he detailed it as follows:
Trey Grayson said the above quote passionately: “It’s the government’s money. It’s not your money!” People responded negatively, but he repeated himself: “It’s not your money!” After being booed, he tried to laugh it off and finally said “It is your money!”
There are two options here. Either he truly believes the quote but decided to change his speech after the crowd reacted negatively two times, or he made the same mistake twice in a row until finally correcting himself. The second situation would indicate a possible “Freudian slip” as I noted above.
Either way, the fact that these words came out of Trey’s mouth is very suspicious, especially considering his liberal tendencies as outlined in other areas of this site.
Best,

Really, Trey, REALLY?
I used to like you but now I read about all of your radical allies…
I hate politics… you can’t trust anyone these days
